I’ve always loved working with women, and creating beautiful images that made them feel good about the woman that they are. I also wanted to showcase Black women as not only beautiful, but sexy and confident because you don’t see a lot of us represented in that light.
Well, my clients will arrive at the studio and will be greeted by my stylist and myself. We go through their pieces for this shoot, and then while they are getting glammed up by my stylist we are chatting away. It’s like girlfriends getting together and catching up and other times it’s therapeutic for us all. After we reveal their look, we get to taking pictures with the music going, and it’s all a lot of fun, and positive experience.
I empower black women with my photography by acknowledging their story, by allowing them to be themselves, and embracing them for who they are in that moment of their life. And just as important, I create images that allow them to see themselves in a positive and beautiful way.
I want Black women to put themselves first more often. I want them to do the shoot for themselves. I want them to celebrate themselves with a session to remind them that they are beautiful, strong, and confident no matter what others may have told the along the way.
There’s a few. I love getting to know my clients because boudoir is so personal that people tend to share more about themselves. But, I can’t even tell you how it feels to see a woman looking at herself in a photo and they are moved to tears.
I just want to say that I love what I do. I feel like this is what I was meant to do with my photography and that I can’t wait to see what comes next!
